Valentine’s week has def been a cheat week for us here. We had scallops and pasta, cookies, candy, cheesecake, french champagne, and even more candy. We might have gone a little overboard this year but what the heck?! I think we were all feeling really happy this year. I try to maintain a healthy menu each week but I wanted to let you all know that its totally ok to cheat. Just not all the time. I feel like without indulging every once in a while, it just becomes too hard to say no to your cravings when they come. Most importantly to me, why do we live if we can’t enjoy things occasionally? This weekend I’ll be right back on it again … my goal is 4.5 miles this weekend. I am slowly working my way up. Then probably a cookie. 😉 If you haven’t tried this sugar cookie recipe yet (I already posted it around Christmas time) do it now! I am sooo addicted. The most delicious sugar cookies ever.
My new favorite Champagne…I only get it when it’s on sale!
The boys were sooo excited for their own Valentine’s we got for them.
Some more of our Valentine’s goodies overload.
And finally for some laughter because we all need some… some “take a Valentine’s Picture for mom” outtakes.
^My favorite because Liam is just a blur. Such a true to life pic! 😀 ^
I wish everyone good luck recovering from your Valentine’s sweets overload… or maybe its just me. Oh well!
Just a little glimpse into behind the pictures type post today. I had gotten the boys and I cute Valentine’s Day shirts and wanted to share some pictures of us wearing them with you all. Of course, after I get a little photo backdrop set up and camera ready to go, Jake only wanted to wear his firetruck shirt. I had to bribe him to even wear his heartbreaker shirt. My hubby had gotten me a remote for my camera to help me take better tripod pictures, so as I am sure you can tell from the photos, Jake then only wanted to push the camera button. And he was mesmerized by it. haha. Anyway, thats real life.
Liam’s cute doggy Valentine’s shirt is an old hand me down from Jake. I got Jake’s Heartbreaker Tee from the Gap. I thought it was something fitting for Valentine’s Day but would work any other day as well. I found this anatomically correct heart sweatshirt on amazon for myself and I thought it was just too perfect. ^OBSESSED with the camera remote!^
He’s so mesmerized by it and would not let anyone else push the button. haha. At least he did a pretty good job.
Boy mom life seems to always end in my boys getting rowdy… no exception here.
At least my only little girl Emma is always up for kisses and cuteness. ❤
Next week we plan on making some cute heart shaped cookies and some special Valentines for our friends. I got them their own special Valentine’s Day chocolates to surprise them next week too. I can’t wait to see their excited faces. What are all your Valentine’s Day plans? I hope they are good ones! Until next week, XOXO.
I just wanted to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year by sharing some cute pics we took for Valentine’s Day with my little boys. We had a little fun with a mini photo shoot in my mini studio. I did not get organized enough to print up some of the pictures and send them out but hopefully everyone can enjoy them here on my blog.
The next set, I tried to use a new background but it did not turn out how I had hoped. At least the boys still look cute.
I made this super cute breakfast from some pinterest inspiration I had seen the past few weeks. I think it was a huge hit even though Jake did not appreciate the artistic presentation. He picked out the donuts because his special stuffed animal is Doughie Dog from the book “If You Give a Dog a Donut”. He woke up this morning asking for the Doughie Donuts. Annndd you know… If you give a dog a donut, he ask for a cup of Starbucks to go with it. 🙂
I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s Day filled with lots of love with everyone you see today and everyday.
To celebrate the upcoming Valentines Day, I made a wreath for our front door. I really like making little wreaths. With a super curious toddler running around, it is super hard to do alot of fancy/cute decorating for many holidays. A nice front door wreath can easily be made during nap time and its out of reach from little toddler hands. Double win! For this one, I added some extra foam on the original circle to make a heart shape. I am sure you can find already heart shaped foam but I could not and did not have alot of time to look around. I just used some wire to attach it to the ring.
I love how it turned out. I love flowers! I am cooking up a few delicious Valentines Day ideas for my boys next week. Here are a couple inspirations I have found.
A cute gift idea if you can get the kids to cooperate. Maybe I’ll try.
I just love this idea… sooo cute!
A cute way to decorate anything for a valentines day feel.
And finally mimosa… because they are always a good idea. 🙂
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. This week I am happy that potty training is going well, we have been able to play outside everyday, and my grandparents are doing better. Thinking positively 🙂
I have been working on continuing some painting and other crafts this week. Crafting, painting, and artwork with a very active toddler adds a whole new complexity to my work. This week was my birthday and my parents sent a little box of supplies to make a Valentine’s Day wreath. They know me so well! I decided to have Jake help me make it. Lets just say we are lucky it turned out as well as it did. I would have liked to make it more puffy and fluffy but I’ll take what I can get.
Jake was working on coloring a birthday card for his Aunty Annie!!
He used a cat liter box for his table, but whatever works!
And then we tried to get a painting started. Lets just say its a work in progress and Jake ended up with only a little paint in his hair. He was really into paint brushes!
He can create quite a mess while helping his mommy. Most of the time my little man is finding a way to climb on top of everything. So it makes it hard to work on any of my own projects.
For Valentine’s Day, Jake did his very first craft/art project. (with a little help from mommy, of course) I wanted to make something for his grandparents from some cute ideas I had seen on pinterest. I decided to make a card with baby footprints and a cute picture to mail to his grandparents since they are all far away.
^I covered him in kisses with one of my favorite lip colors^
He will probably be very embarrassed by this one day. We had a few other takes but I liked this one with him grabbing his knees best.
I then dipped his feet in some washable nontoxic paint. He really enjoyed this and kept squeezing his toes in the paint, so we got plenty of paint on each foot no problem. I stategically placed the footprints to look like a heart.
I hope everyone enjoys their Valentine’s Day cards, and everyone else has a great Valentine’s Day weekend! muah!
