We packed up and moved up north to Indiana!!! Its been hard to keep up with my blog while getting all this moving stuff done. First selling our Florida house and then working on packing up all our stuff. Running out of room in our 2 moving/storage pods and having to quickly get another and arrange all that again. (Thankfully we had amazing support in Tampa by way of a couple best friends and one amazing brother-in-law) Then both boys got sick as we packed up. Then we had Irma hit Florida before we closed on the Tampa house causing delays in the selling down there which meant pushing back moving into Indiana house. Emma dog of course had to hurt her leg during all of this. And last of all, my wonderful Grandfather passed away. It has been hard on us all. I will miss him dearly but I am glad the cancer is no longer putting him in pain. He was such a great man and helped me through some very rough times in my life. I hope he knew how much he helped me. I do know he was proud of my family and I.
As I am typing this, I am sitting on the floor of our bedroom because we have no chairs yet. We have a air mattress for ourselves and Jake is in his sleeping bag. Liam lucked out the best because he has his pack n play. And Emma and Tiny have their own beds. (Since originally typing this post we now have furniture and are more situated. I wanted to include pictures and could not access them for a while. I take quite alot of pictures and my hubby has to come up with creative solutions to organizing and storing them digitally. Right now they are all a mess which is the main reason I haven’t been able to post. I have quite a bit of catching up to do now!)
Here are some fun epic moving journey photos from the past month that I hope you enjoy.^Packing up and moving out^^Our two moving pods that we ran out of space in and had to get a third!^
Last morning in Tampa called for some Mini Doughnut Factory donuts. They are just the cutest and very tasty too!
The boys and I have arrived in Indy! ^My hubby took this picture on one of his house hunting trips so it wasn’t really from us flying in but isn’t it a cool photo?^^Our Y on Indy got cut off a bit but you get the idea.^
After several weeks of living in uncertainty…we have a new home!^Let the unpacking begin.^^Lunch on a storage tote because we had no table or chairs unpacked yet. So classy!^
During our homeless period of life, we took a mini trip to Colorado and went to this wonderful farm to go apple picking. It was so much fun. I cannot wait to get back into a normal schedule and internet back to share our adventures. I still have some awesome family beach photos to finish as well. Yay for getting my photos back! I am also quite excited for our new midwest adventures and home reno adventures to come! This weekend we are celebrating both boys’ birthdays and I am super excited for that too. Love you all.
We have had quite alot of big changes going on down here and by blog has taken a back seat for a bit. I have been working through the iMovie learning curve and created this mini movie of some swimming fun. I think it will be nice to have some movies to look back on later of our family.
I have been enjoying the Go Pro but I am not 100% sure what I am doing with it yet. I thought it was a pretty cute mini movie. I have take more footage of family outings lately to make mini movies out of. I am learning new things about video editing as I go just like how I have been learning with my photography. I am always welcome to suggestions/advice/tips or any other ideas.
For Father’s Day we painted a cute little beer crate. I know painting can be super messy but with these Toddler Finger Paints, clean up is a breeze. Liam is still a bit small to enjoy the paints or use them without trying to eat the paint. Thankfully it is nontoxic. Jake really gets into the painting and all the different colors. He was so proud he painted all the screws in the beer crate for dad.
After Liam failed at painting, he got put in charge of coloring the card the boys picked out. He also tried to eat the crayons too.
We got some balloons and Jake was sooooo excited about them. He even asked me to take his picture with the balloons. I knew he would be too excited about them to keep it a secret. The Father’s Day pool party I planned got rained out but everything the boys and I made for dad was a big hit.Delicious mini cuban appetizers. ^It was starting to storm and Jake has been so scared of thunder lately. This ended up the best daddy and boys picture we could get.^
It was so much fun celebrating such a great daddy. Until next week, XOXO!
I love being outside! I am a believer in being very active and I even enjoy all types of weather. I have always said I can handle the most active kids just fine (be careful what you ask for!) and I def have some high energy boys which I LOVE! I promise I am not making that up. haha. I encourage my boys to get out and play everyday so as you can imagine, we spend alot of time outside. I think it’s totally good to let the boys just play and get dirty. We usually go through several outfit changes a day but I know they are getting plenty of exercise. In my dream house, I’d like a mud/laundry room with a mini shower/tub for dogs and kids to hose off before entering the house. (One can dream)
Here are a couple pics from playing in the yard and feeding the fish just the past week.
Recently we’ve been making a few trips to Lettuce Lake Park nearby us. They have a fun playground and some little trails for the little hikers.
Hiking morning with my boys. Can’t wait to go back and bring Dad next time! We’ve got quite a bit of big things happening in the next couple of weeks and I see alot more mini hiking trips in our future. So make sure you get outside and enjoy the summer!
A couple weeks ago I got all my boys and Emma organized to take some family pictures. I did similar pictures when Jake was 6 months old and wanted to do some now that Liam turned 6 months. Our Azalea bushes were in full bloom and made a gorgeous photo background. They turned out so nice… it is not an easy job to get 2 little boys and my doggy baby to all look nice at the same time!
This is my absolute favorite. Already printed it on Shutterfly and is hanging on my photo gallery wall! I just love Jakes little smirk and how Liam is just watching Jake. That’s pretty much how they always are anymore.
My Love! ❤ ❤ ❤
My crazy bunch of boys clean up pretty well. I know they already are annoyed by my picture taking but I love taking these pictures. My ever changing photo gallery wall makes me smile every time I come down the stairs in my house.
I’ve been working on redoing 2 of our bathrooms and organizing my office better. Mostly redecorating and throwing away stuff we don’t need. Operation get rid of our clutter!! It’s a slow process but it’s going.
This weekend we were celebrating St. Patricks Day with the boys in downtown Tampa. Nice weather and a green river made for a very nice afternoon walk. On Friday I got the boys some St. Patrick’s Day stickers which was alot of fun. They just love stickers. The hubby is not a sticker fan.
Then we had to complete the fun by putting all the stickers on little brother. Oh these boys!
Off to Downtown… Cheers from us…
“Jake come take a nice picture with me.”
Fine I’ll just take one by myself.^At least hubby wanted to take a cute picture with me.^
We found this bench with a xylophone built in it. How cool is that?
Hope everyone had a fun and green St. Patrick’s weekend!
Wagon rides are a big hit around here so we were all pretty excited to take Liam on his first wagon ride around the house. He’s getting pretty good at sitting up on his own but he’s still unstable so I packed a moving blanket around him. And you know what, it worked really well. Jake was especially excited to have a wagon riding buddy. I just love seeing them starting to interact and play together now.
Climbing and chaos is pretty much my new normal with my boys.
Jake was super excited and proud to give his first wagon ride! A super proud big brother!
I thought I would throw in some pictures of Jake and Emma playing together as well. Jake loves to pretend to be a dog and run around with his best friend. Emma loves having a little boy to play with too. I could not stage this cuteness!
My family is my whole life and I love spending everyday with my little squad. I am thankful everyday for my rough and rowdy little family. Even the no napping days (i think…)
We had been on the road traveling for the last couple weeks. We set out on the long journey from Tampa to Chicago then down to Kokomo Indiana. Not that long by plane but we wanted to bring our wonderful Emma with us and she would get too scared on an airplane. So it’s a two day journey in a car with two boys under 2, a dog and a ton of stuff. I know I always over pack but I get so excited to wear something different! This particular trip was honestly very stressful for me. Liam pretty much never switched to a different time zone and stopped sleeping all night. Not his fault, he’s not 4 months yet and its alot for him to do. But I felt like I was on an opposite schedule than everyone else the whole time. I can’t wait for the day when our trips that mess the kids up are for fun vacations instead of just going to see family every time since they are far away. It was so nice to get home but I still wish I had more time to see friends. The couple of playdates I did get to have made me so happy to know that there are other moms out there like me. (You know who you are 🙂 )
It was a nice Christmas. I have been excited to start doing some family traditions of our own this year too. Some of my favorite Christmas traditions is making Christmas Cookies for Santa…
^It’s a wonder we got anything made with this cookie eating crew.^^Jake was REALLY into licking the bowl! 🙂 ^^Decorating time!^^Cookies and wine for Santa 😉 and carrots for the reindeer.^
It was a wonderful Christmas. So much fun watching my little boy get excited and open presents for the first time.Another Christmas tradition I love is getting matching Christmas jammies and a Christmas book to read together on Christmas eve…^Matching Christmas jammies! I ❤ these boys!^
One of the hardest things for me about living in the south is no snow. I absolutely love snow. I was so excited to have snow to play in this year while visiting and even more excited that Jake LOVED it too.^Emma missed the snow soooo much too.^^The first steps out in the fluffy marshmallow world.^^SNOWBALLS! Thank goodness for a waterproof phone case!^^Eating snow. “It’s delicious!”^^Daddy and baby snowmen.^^The boys were thrilled about our matching Indianapolis Colts hats. haha.^
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are ready to ring in 2017 this weekend. I know I am going to dress up fancy and drink fancy champagne from our super comfy couch here at home.
A few weeks ago we all traveled up to Indiana for a wedding and visited my parents. My mom and dad own a Christmas tree farm which was super fun to grow up there. Over the past 3 years, I have been pretty sad not to get any Christmas tree farm Christmas card pictures, so I was pretty excited when it worked out that we got to take some family pics. Since it was quite an Indian summer this year a bunch of tree still had fall leaves on them. I loved being able to get some of the beautiful orange leaves in the background too. Everyone cooperated fairly well too… well we bribed with cookies. 🙂 The Christmas season is hard for me living in Florida. I really miss snow, and sweaters and boots and family. It just never feels like its Christmas and the holidays just sneak up on me.
This little Santa helper has gotten all the Christmas shopping done, THANK YOU ONLINE SHOPPING! But I have been busy the past couple weeks with visitors and a sick baby. My little office is just a mess of amazon boxes. Lets hope Santa finds a way to get them all wrapped… hopefully during some good nap times!
Until next week, XOXO. Keep spreading holiday cheer to all! ❤
Last month Jake man turned two! I am not sure where the past two years went but they went by crazy fast! Since we live so far away from family and friends, we just had 2 little parties – One when my Mother-in-law was down visiting and another one when my parents came down to visit. He wanted a Paw Patrol party of course…its pretty much his favorite thing right now besides tools and legos. So I just did 2 of the exact same party… 2 of the same cakes, decorations and food. It worked out well and most important, Jake loved it!
^I thought my Rubble cake turned out super cute… and trust me, it was yummy too!^
And then Birthday Party #2!
Grandma and Grandpa got him his own toy chainsaw which he loved and used to open the rest of the gifts. haha!
I tried to get Jake to do a cute 2nd Birthday photo shoot as well, but he was having none of it. I do like some of what I got. They do really show off his wild personality.
A little bit after his birthday but better late than never.
