An 8 x 10 inch Prisme Fantasy Paint by Pebeo on canvas with gold leaf. The frame is an antique finished golden 3 1/2 inch wide wooden frame. This painting is one of my smaller pieces because I wanted to test out some new paint colors. I usually do a test piece on smaller canvases incase they do not turn out how I envision. I really enjoy the colors and flow of this one. It turned out just as I envisioned. As you can see from some of the close up photos, the paint has added some really interesting textures to the piece. I love playing with textures.
I’ll call it a new paint experiment success! Now to the next piece!
This week I finally got around to working on experimenting with some new paint. I have been so excited to get a chance to try this paint out for a couple weeks now. I really think it will make a really interesting looking abstract painting. Since I have not worked with this kind of paint before I decided I would try just a small piece to see what I can do. Here are a few “in progress” pictures for you.
Hopefully it will turn out as cool as I see it in my mind. Although it has not been easy. This morning while adding some more layers, the end of my braid dipped into some green paint… lets just say the end of my hair has some green highlights now.
Meanwhile, (a bit off topic but I had some cute pictures I took) I am so happy that Emma dog and baby Jake love each other! If he is fussy or upset, all you have to do is sit him next to Emma and he will immediately smile and laugh.
^Nothing like playing with daddy^
We are very big believers in rescuing shelter animals. Emma was so shy when we first met and adopted her, that she would not leave her doggy crate. Now look at how much of a wonderful dog she is! If you are looking to get a family dog, make sure to go check out your local shelters. There are so many dogs that need happy families to protect just like Emma.
I finally got around to working on some more art projects this week. I have had this one in my mind for a long time now. I plan on playing with these paper flowers and making a few different pieces with this medium. It is super simple to create on your own if you would like to try yourself.
I just glued these cute paper hearts onto a canvas that I had already texturized with Gesso.
I had several “helpers” today… but they all behaved pretty well. (All three mostly napped which is the only time I get to work on my art for now)
And here is my finished piece. I think it will look super cute in the guest bedroom! I cannot decide which orientation I like best before signing it. Let me know what you think!
