This week I have been so busy. Liam is cutting teeth again and isn’t sleeping well. I hope he gets done soon. I’m new to this teeth issue. Jake’s didn’t seem to bother him at all. At least Liam is happy during the day. Just has a bit of trouble going back to sleep when he wakes up in the middle of the night. But really this week I feel like we’ve just been running around everywhere! I have several projects I have been trying to work on but I really haven’t found a good balance of when to get them done yet. One day this week Liam randomly didn’t take his nap and now today Jake isn’t napping. And now on top of the boys and the animals to take care of, it’s also been sooo dry down here that a bunch of our trees are dying and we have to make sure to water them all the time. SOOO much stuff right now!
I think alot of time most everyone thinks I am a crazy stressed out person who needs a break. Actually I love staying home and taking care of everyone… well I could really care less about the trees. I am not normally crazy either, it is just hard when people question what I do or try to confuse me. And I do get stressed out but not usually from the boys; I get myself stressed out about what other people think of me. I have a hard time and worry that everyone thinks I am a crazy bad mom who doesn’t do the right things for my kids. I also know I am not the only mama that worries about these things and with Mother’s Day approaching, make sure to tell mama’s you know how much you appreciate what they do and that they are doing a good job. I know it will mean tons to anyone.
But since I didn’t work on any projects to post about. I thought I’d share some hair inspo with you all. I don’t like to just wear leggings or yoga pants and top knots all the time. I do enjoy staying up to date with fashion and looking good. That is something important to myself and goes a long way to make me feel good. I spent my tiny naptime break yesterday searching pinterest for hair ideas. Some of these I have actually tried in some way or another and are pretty easy to do.
and here were some tutorials on how to do some easy mom friendly hair styles. As you can see I love the braid option especially since it’s so hot down here.
I have tried a simpler version of this Pull thru braid and I just love the look of it. It really doesn’t take too long to do and give your side braid or pigtail braids a nice full look!
I also like this Braid into ponytail too. It is harder for me to do and mine never turns out quite as good as hers. But I still like the look and its just adds a little bit to a boring ponytail.
Here are some pics of different times I’ve tried these various styles and other fun braids.
And not to forget the classic mom go to top knot or messy bun or pony. I’ve tried to make mine not so lazy looking as well. Heres a few different tries.
Anyway just sharing a few of my go to mom hair styles and maybe inspiring a few of you to try them as well! Until next week, I’ll be enjoying mom life. XOXO.
We spend a ton of time driving the Little Blue Truck all around the driveway and sidewalks around the house. We got Jake the Little Tikes Cozy Truck for his first birthday and he just loves it. If anyone is struggling for a first bday idea, I highly recommend the truck or the coupe from Little Tikes. Super durable too! It has worked out perfectly since The Little Blue Truck books are some of his most favorite books. “Mama! I want to go drive my Little Blue Truck!”
For little guys, we have quite the small car and bike road ways. I always think it would be funny to see our little parade and I decided to set the timer on my camera and capture it. Randomly, it was not going well but my hubby showed up and snapped a few pics for me. I am glad whenever I get to see pictures of me with the boys too. Since I enjoy taking photos, I am rarely in my own pictures and they usually don’t turn out as nice as they would if I had taken them. A bit of a photographer’s dilemma. Well anyway here are a few pics of our Little Blue Truck Parade… I especially like this first one because we got Emma dog in it too. She will follow or led Jake anywhere!
And just for some extra fun are a couple more snaps of the boys and I at St. Petersburg Sunken Gardens. They were really not into pictures.
I am still working on a few new projects but we just returned from a little vacation up north to visit family. One day it will be nice to see family more often and then actually get a chance to travel to new places on vacation!
I have recently been working on redecorating and redoing hardware in a few of the rooms in our house. One of my bathroom redo project was taking and putting some bath time pictures of the boys in their bathroom. I edited them in black and white and added a black matte with a white frame. I love how it looks. Such a cute idea for the bathroom.
We will be repainting the bathroom walls which is why I have not hung the photographs up yet.
I have been decorating with other cute ideas as well. I am working on these shark paintings.Working with illustration and paint pens for this project. I am using watercolor paper medium as well. I am planning on doing some sort of matte and frame with them but I have to finish the paintings before I can figure out what will look the best with each one.
I was originally inspired for my boy’s bathroom concept by this Shark Bathroom Rug from Pottery Barn Kids. It was on back order for quite a while and I just got it today and it is just too cute!! I can’t wait to get the walls and decor complete and finally see my boys bathroom vision come to life.
All projects are slowly coming together. Until next week, XOXO
A couple weeks ago I got all my boys and Emma organized to take some family pictures. I did similar pictures when Jake was 6 months old and wanted to do some now that Liam turned 6 months. Our Azalea bushes were in full bloom and made a gorgeous photo background. They turned out so nice… it is not an easy job to get 2 little boys and my doggy baby to all look nice at the same time!
This is my absolute favorite. Already printed it on Shutterfly and is hanging on my photo gallery wall! I just love Jakes little smirk and how Liam is just watching Jake. That’s pretty much how they always are anymore.
My Love! ❤ ❤ ❤
My crazy bunch of boys clean up pretty well. I know they already are annoyed by my picture taking but I love taking these pictures. My ever changing photo gallery wall makes me smile every time I come down the stairs in my house.
I’ve been working on redoing 2 of our bathrooms and organizing my office better. Mostly redecorating and throwing away stuff we don’t need. Operation get rid of our clutter!! It’s a slow process but it’s going.
This weekend we were celebrating St. Patricks Day with the boys in downtown Tampa. Nice weather and a green river made for a very nice afternoon walk. On Friday I got the boys some St. Patrick’s Day stickers which was alot of fun. They just love stickers. The hubby is not a sticker fan.
Then we had to complete the fun by putting all the stickers on little brother. Oh these boys!
Off to Downtown… Cheers from us…
“Jake come take a nice picture with me.”
Fine I’ll just take one by myself.^At least hubby wanted to take a cute picture with me.^
We found this bench with a xylophone built in it. How cool is that?
Hope everyone had a fun and green St. Patrick’s weekend!
I remember the first year going by as fast as a blink of an eye… and I think its going even faster this time, if thats even possible! How is this little man already 6 months old?? This week I was going through pictures to print and hang on my picture wall as well as trying to get my millions of pictures more organized in files. So many memories to look back on. I am sure there are people who think I post way to many photos but I know one day my little boys will have a wonderful time looking back through this blog. Its a prefect little glimpse into the past. Anyway looking back at Liam’s first 6 months pictures and I cannot believe how much he’s already grown and changed. Little guys just change and grow sooo much the first year that its hard to believe. I am so glad I have taken the time to take these pictures and can’t wait to see what the next 6 months bring.
I have to remember that he is just little for a very short time, that way I don’t feel guilty that he doesn’t know how to drink out of any bottle or training cup. I feel like sometimes let myself feel bad when we go do things and I have to stop to breastfeed him. But 99% of the time it works best for us and I do enjoy our little bonding time. Soon little Liam will be like his big brother and just want to do whatever Dad is doing and I won’t be as important.
Wagon rides are a big hit around here so we were all pretty excited to take Liam on his first wagon ride around the house. He’s getting pretty good at sitting up on his own but he’s still unstable so I packed a moving blanket around him. And you know what, it worked really well. Jake was especially excited to have a wagon riding buddy. I just love seeing them starting to interact and play together now.
Climbing and chaos is pretty much my new normal with my boys.
Jake was super excited and proud to give his first wagon ride! A super proud big brother!
I thought I would throw in some pictures of Jake and Emma playing together as well. Jake loves to pretend to be a dog and run around with his best friend. Emma loves having a little boy to play with too. I could not stage this cuteness!
My family is my whole life and I love spending everyday with my little squad. I am thankful everyday for my rough and rowdy little family. Even the no napping days (i think…)
I was just craving some peach cobbler and decided to find a recipe and cook some up for us. Here is the link for the recipe I used if anyone is interested. It turned out quite good and very delicious.
It got the Jake man “mmm mmm good” seal of approval. Delicious.
Just an fyi… I wrote this post several months ago and just now finally got around to posting it. I def feel like some delicious peach cobbler is in the near future for us. YUM! Now just waiting on little Liam to take his nap! It’s always something.
Hope everyone is having a great week! Until next week, XOXO.
I just wanted to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year by sharing some cute pics we took for Valentine’s Day with my little boys. We had a little fun with a mini photo shoot in my mini studio. I did not get organized enough to print up some of the pictures and send them out but hopefully everyone can enjoy them here on my blog.
The next set, I tried to use a new background but it did not turn out how I had hoped. At least the boys still look cute.
I made this super cute breakfast from some pinterest inspiration I had seen the past few weeks. I think it was a huge hit even though Jake did not appreciate the artistic presentation. He picked out the donuts because his special stuffed animal is Doughie Dog from the book “If You Give a Dog a Donut”. He woke up this morning asking for the Doughie Donuts. Annndd you know… If you give a dog a donut, he ask for a cup of Starbucks to go with it. 🙂
I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s Day filled with lots of love with everyone you see today and everyday.
To celebrate the upcoming Valentines Day, I made a wreath for our front door. I really like making little wreaths. With a super curious toddler running around, it is super hard to do alot of fancy/cute decorating for many holidays. A nice front door wreath can easily be made during nap time and its out of reach from little toddler hands. Double win! For this one, I added some extra foam on the original circle to make a heart shape. I am sure you can find already heart shaped foam but I could not and did not have alot of time to look around. I just used some wire to attach it to the ring.
I love how it turned out. I love flowers! I am cooking up a few delicious Valentines Day ideas for my boys next week. Here are a couple inspirations I have found.
A cute gift idea if you can get the kids to cooperate. Maybe I’ll try.
I just love this idea… sooo cute!
A cute way to decorate anything for a valentines day feel.
And finally mimosa… because they are always a good idea. 🙂
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. This week I am happy that potty training is going well, we have been able to play outside everyday, and my grandparents are doing better. Thinking positively 🙂
